Notts in a Nutshell, on Tuesday 5th June at <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/themazerocks\">The Maze<\/a><\/strong>. If the Sounds of Rock\/Metal sends you on cloud 9, then head down to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/themazerocks\">The Maze<\/a><\/strong> for this brilliant gig!<br \/>\n<br \/>\nAre you ready for the sounds of hard heavy screamo?? If your answer is ARGGHH yesss, then you are going to love <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/The-Turncoats\/118160921549953\">PULL THE TRIGGER&#8217;s<\/a><\/strong> performance. With a mix mash of heavy bass lines, thrashy drums and powerful gothic vocals, this band is set to hit the scene by storm.<br \/>\nTheir music truly is a head banger!<br \/>\n<br \/>\n4 piece alternative blues band <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/The-Turncoats\/118160921549953\">THE TURNCOATS<\/a><\/strong> is setting the trend for classic Rock n Roll in Nottingham! With influences from <strong>THE KINKS<\/strong> and <strong>THE WHO<\/strong>, it is evident that <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/The-Turncoats\/118160921549953\">THE TURNCOATS<\/a><\/strong> love listening as well as playing good \u2018ol British Rock n Roll. With influence from the likes of <strong>VAMPIRE WEEKEND<\/strong>, <strong>ELVIS<\/strong> and <strong>JASON MRAZ<\/strong>, The Friendly Spartans will rock your night with their lively spirited charisma.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nAlso performi<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Alley\/131488546898268?rf=215741345167534\">n<\/a>g will be <strong>SAM WILSON<\/strong><br \/>\n<br \/>\nPRICE: \u00a33<br \/>\nDOORS: 7.30pm<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong>GIG TWO<\/strong><br \/>\n<br \/>\nNext we the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/#!\/events\/313571932053701\/\">WIRE AND WOOL<\/a> Mini Festival at <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Alley\/131488546898268?rf=215741345167534\">The Alley Cafe<\/a><\/strong> on Thursday June 7th.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nThis line up is a beauitful jumble of awesome bands, wicked beatboxers, bluesy solo acts and burlesque girls&#8230;what more d&#8217;you want from a night out?<br \/>\n<br \/>\n10.55 &#8211; At the peak of the epic line up is <strong>SKARABUSH <\/strong>Nottingham premier party band that will have you partying harder than Charlie Sheen on a stag do with Chuck Norris. Expect to be treated to ska, blues and even a bit of latin in this entertainment monster of a band.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n10.00 \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.timothyjsimpson.com\/\"><strong>TIMOTHY J SIMPSON<\/strong><\/a> began his career at 12 years old playing punk, then funk, then odd electronica, before rejecting the whole lot for music that he can make with just his hands, his voice and and the words in his head (some would say voices).<br \/>\nThis unfairly talented singer\/songwriter&#8217;s tunes are mostly skewed kitchen sink tales about modern morality, the individual&#8217;s place in society and the crushing inhumanity of the workplace.<br \/>\nIn 2009 he released his debut album &#8220;Our glorious hero battles the man&#8221;, and released a follow up &#8211; &#8220;You&#8217;ll be alright in Flordia&#8221;, in December 2011. He will backed up with his band <strong>THE MONSTROUS DEAD<\/strong> who are one of the most engaging live bands on the planet&#8230; powered by pure soul.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n 9.15 &#8211; \u201c<strong>D.H LAWRENCE AND THE VAUDEVILLIAN SKIFFLE SHOW<\/strong> come from the green hills and valleys of &#8216;Lawrence country&#8217;. Some say the these fellas have spent too long in the woods drinking moonshine! Mean and moody, they can break your heart (Ketamine Kate, When I Fly) or skiffle you to submission with their high octane drinking &#038; songs of deathly demise (White Jesus, Penn Station) . . . . it&#8217;s a kind of &#8220;UpNoirthicana&#8221; . . . . Psycho-skiiffle through to lo-fi Country\/Folk sung by men of the woods . . . If they are not singing hanging songs in the darkness of the trees, then they&#8217;re picking mushrooms or elderberries and sloes to make ruby red liquour to help them through the deep darkness of winter . . . Light a candle, sip some moonshine liquour and enjoy!\u201d We&#8217;re not quite sure what the hell this show is but it sounds fucking awesome!<br \/>\n<br \/>\n8.30 &#8211; <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Riff-Bastard\/382167041803899\">RIFF BASTARD<\/a><\/strong> are on of those bands that you discover one day and think WHY HAVEN&#8217;T I FOUND THESE BEFORE?! With quite possibly the best band name in the history of the universe their riff heavy, groove laden, no bullshit hard rock will smash your mind into pieces, these guys have been sent a on a personal mission from the god of rock himself under strict instructions to go and Rock some shows&#8230;.either that or its all one big midlife crisis manifesting itself in the form of a band.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nYou decide.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nMean while all this gluttonous entertainment is kicking off downstairs, there will be more stuff going on upstairs including <strong>THE ACCORDIAN MAN<\/strong> at 9.00 and the man who puts the \u201cpil\u201d and the \u201cgrim\u201d in the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Gringo-Records\/9495672850\">PILGRIM FATHERS<\/a><\/strong> Neil Gregory. Mr Gregory is a \u201cwhisky sodden red bearded bastard of man who likes nothing more than whipping dogs and decking bears\u201d &#8230;wow we want to know this guy. Expect a brutally bluesy set. At 10.10pm beatboxer <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/leetabeatbox\">LEE TABIX<\/a><\/strong> will be dropping some beat bombs and from 10.30 onwards<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/alexxyoung\">MOTORMOUF <\/a><\/strong>and friends will be keeping the night going .<br \/>\n<br \/>\nMore TBC&#8230;<br \/>\n<br \/>\nDOORS: 8:30<br \/>\nTICKETS: Free<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong>GIG THREE<\/strong><br \/>\n<br \/>\nNot only being one of the most well-renowned but also one of the most generous Record labels in Nott\u2019s, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Gringo-Records\/9495672850\">GRINGO RECORDS<\/a><\/strong> have decided to shower you with not one but TWO DAYS worth of incredible music as it celebrates being an incredible 15 years young.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nDon\u2019t let the name fool you \u2013 the members of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/#!\/pages\/Grey-Hairs\/264148570291886\"><strong>GREY HAIRS<\/strong><\/a> are far from reaching for the knitting needles and rocking chairs.  Armed with a give-it-all-or-nothing attitude to their music, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/#!\/pages\/Grey-Hairs\/264148570291886\"><strong>GREY HAIRS\u2019s <\/strong><\/a> are an up-and-coming hidden gem that will hook you with their infectious approach to life.  If you need any more proof, they secured a much sought-after slot at this year\u2019s Dot to Dot and are set to storm the stage and rustle the masses once again.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nNext up, get ready to embrace the lesser-known art of air punching as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/#!\/pages\/FISTS\/85191506749\"><strong>FISTS<\/strong><\/a> take to the stage with a raging musical assault.  Having returned to Nott\u2019s with open arms after a whirlwind Tour, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/#!\/pages\/FISTS\/85191506749\"><strong>FISTS<\/strong><\/a> have performed with suitable energy and flair alongside the likes of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/#!\/pages\/Cantaloupe\/226813987350939\">CANTALOUPE<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/#!\/KagouleUK\">KAGOULE<\/a><\/strong> at a LeftLion gig recently and this gig is set to raise the bar for live shows once again!<br \/>\n<br \/>\nCombining an unusual blend of fuzzed-out psychedelic garage-rock with more soothing elements, eclectic three-piece <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/#!\/pages\/Kogumaza\/114246058593416\"><strong>KOGUMAZA<\/strong><\/a> add their woven tapestry of musical genres to the mix.
