Her soulful voice and enigmatic stage presence marks this songstress as something truly special.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/DickVenomandtheTerrortones\"><strong>DICK VENOM &#038; THE TERRORTONES<\/strong><\/a> are the band your Grandma fears. Describing their sound as SurfTonal SwampRockin FuckPhonic Rockablilly, they\u2019ll entice you with their rock n roll hooks and rockabilly sleaze.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nNext are the epic sounds of <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/TheBarnumMeserve\">THE BARNUM MESERVE<\/a><\/strong>. The combination of elaborate piano solos with the raw screams of Leon Wiley will send tingles down your spine, theatrical rock at its best.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nMaking math-rock fun since 2004 are the boys of <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/YS-Official\/172323849446270?sk=info#!\/pages\/YS-Official\/172323849446270\">YOU SLUT!<\/a><\/strong>. With a killer combination of odd time signatures, punk riffs with memorable melodies, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/YS-Official\/172323849446270?sk=info#!\/pages\/YS-Official\/172323849446270\">YOU SLUT!<\/a><\/strong> will keep you on your toes.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nThe monstrous <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/hotjapanesegirl\">HOT JAPANESE GIRL<\/a><\/strong> are the penultimate act to this stage. Delivering their brand of ethereal prog-rock, this five-piece will blow you away with their grandiose rock tunes and slick live effects. A fitting end to a banging line up.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong>STAGE THREE:<\/strong><br \/>\n<br \/>\nStarting the outdoor fun are three piece <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/RIseupthesun\">RISE UP THE SUN<\/a><\/strong>. Their quirky brand of folk pop akin to the likes of <strong>Mumford and Sons<\/strong> will get you smiling come rain or shine.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nContinuing with the country flavour is Texas-born <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/chrisreeve.esq\">CHRIS REEVE<\/a><\/strong>. With bluegrass tinged melodies and lyrics covering everything from heartbreak to aggressive roosters, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/chrisreeve.esq\">CHRIS REEVE<\/a><\/strong> and his banjo never disappoint.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nFresh-faced <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/FrankieRudolf\">FRANKIE RUDOLPH<\/a><\/strong> is almost \u2018almost too young to be this good\u2019. At the tender age of 15 (!), Frankie delivers his sound of acoustic indie folk reminiscent of <strong>Ben Howard.<\/strong> You\u2019ll have to see it to believe it, and once you\u2019ve seen it you\u2019ll be hooked.<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ManieredesBohemiens\">MANIERE DES BOHEMIENS<\/a> <\/strong>will take you on a cultural, musical journey. Inspired by a misspent youth and an abusive PE teacher, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ManieredesBohemiens\">MANIERE DES BOHEMIENS<\/a> <\/strong>create a unique blend of gypsy, folk and jazz and will have you swaying.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nUp next,<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/LiamOkaneMusic\">LIAM O\u2019KANE <\/a><\/strong>will entrance you his blend of ska and folk. Also playing stage one with his band <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Jimmythesquirrelband\">JIMMY THE SQUIRRELL<\/a><\/strong>, Liam and his guitar are a force to be reckoned with.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nA well established staple of the Notts music scene, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/chrismcdonalduk\">CHRIS MCDONALD<\/a> <\/strong>plays stunning acoustic folk to tug at the heartstrings. Always delivering an utterly moving set he will have you mesmerised from the very first strum of his faithful acoustic.  Influenced by folk God\u2019s such as <strong>Phil Ochs<\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/soundcloud.com\/evil-jack\">EVIL JACK<\/a> <\/strong>has marked himself as one to watch out for. Playing a mixture of bluegrass, folk and rockabilly he is simply compelling- fun music as it should be.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nFrom the remains of <strong>Allotment Dogs <\/strong>and <strong>Cho Cho San<\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/flyingrobotpimp\/info#!\/flyingrobotpimp\">FLYING ROBOT PIMP<\/a> <\/strong>were born. Relentlessly entertaining, their power pop rock guarantees to raise your spirits.<br \/>\nGravelly vocals juxtaposed with silky folk melodies mark <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/willjefferymusician\">WILL JEFFREY<\/a><\/strong> as a Notts music must-see. A definite pupil at the school of Johnny Cash, his \u2018Beautifully Shambolic Smokey folk\u2019 will make you swoon.<br \/>\nThe charismatic<strong> <a href=\"facebook.com\/robgreenmusic\">ROB GREEN<\/a><\/strong> follows. The Nottingham born-and-bred singer takes to the stage armed this time with his backing band <strong>The Caution Collective<\/strong>, promising a set with some serious mother flippin\u2019 soul.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nFor your electro cravings, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/TrayElectric\">TRAY ELECTRIC<\/a><\/strong> will set you straight. One man band Jody Betts provides dance floor friendly electronic with carefully crafted melodies and is a breath of fresh and funky air.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nClosing the outdoor stage, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/wholesomefish\">WHOLESOME FISH<\/a><\/strong> create folk rock to dance to. With influences that range from Celtic and gypsy-rooted folk through to Cajun, bluegrass, boogie-blues, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/wholesomefish\">WHOLESOME FISH<\/a><\/strong> have a distinctive and established sound that is guaranteed to improve your life a little bit upon hearing.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nWith THREE whole stages brimming with fresh talent all for the insanely low price of just five pounds, there is no reason why you should not be at Nottingham\u2019s Canal house on Saturday 23rd June.
