At long last. We&#8217;ve got three gigs this week you need to get yourselves down to.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nFirst up <strong>Notts In A Nutshell<\/strong> brings you loud <strong>Metal<\/strong> bands at <strong>The Maze<\/strong> on Wednesday (8th).<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Into-Ruins\/121292417915901?sk=app_2405167945\">INTO RUINS<\/a><\/strong> will certainly bring the mosh and get all you metalheads going crazy.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nCarrying on the energetic vibes <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/soundcloud.com\/forlornhope\">FORLORN HOPE<\/a><\/strong>, fronted by a female, her soft, pretty vocals will provide a contrast to the loud, fast guitars.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nAnd <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Ratbiter\/201971146511560?sk=app_178091127385\">RATBITER<\/a><\/strong> will play something a little different mixing beautiful, soft, mellow music and then all of a sudden bursting into <strong>Experimental Metal<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nDoors: 7.30pm<br \/>\nTickets: \u00a33<br \/>\n<br \/>\nNext, also on Wednesday (8th) <strong>MY FIRST BAND<\/strong> have their album launch at <strong>The Nottingham Arts Theatre<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nPromising beautiful songs and heart felt vibes, you&#8217;ll be toe-tapping along in no time at all. You&#8217;ll be treated to a selection of songs from all four of their LPs produced over a a committed TEN years together!<br \/>\n<br \/>\nDoors: 7pm<br \/>\nTickets: FREE!<br \/>\n<br \/>\nAnd finally on the best day of the entire year Friday (10th) (my birthday) <strong>Nottingham University<\/strong> will be hosting a festival called <strong>Sounds on the Downs<\/strong> at <strong>The University Park<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nFirst up <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/TigerBloodUK?sk=info\">TIGER BLOOD<\/a><\/strong> who claim to have a love of 80s <strong>Alternative Rock<\/strong> and 21st Century <strong>Indie<\/strong> have a similarity to The Smiths with their own modern twist.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/joeslater.bandcamp.com\/\">JOE SLATER<\/a><\/strong>, a man who&#8217;s good with words and manages to make everything rhyme, has a lovely voice, and is well worth checking out. A pretty, melodic guitar accompanies him to all his performances.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nNext, energetic band <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/SatnamsTash\">SATNAM&#8217;S TASH<\/a><\/strong> play guitars which sound like a summers day and play the type of music you can&#8217;t sit still to.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nNext the wonderful <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ManieredesBohemiens\">MANIERE DES BOHEMIENS<\/a><\/strong> will play their sounds of <strong>Folk<\/strong>\/<strong>Swing<\/strong>\/<strong>Jazz<\/strong> which absolutely anyone can appreciate and there&#8217;ll be dancing a plenty!<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Oldboynottingham\">OLDBOY<\/a><\/strong> will play their melodic, <strong>Dark Alt<\/strong>\/<strong>Rock<\/strong> combined with strong vocals to create anthems that will get stuck in your head.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nNext, the terrific <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/hhymn\">HHYMN<\/a><\/strong> will play their collection of beautiful, well put together songs, fronted by a unique, powerful voice. These guys make us proud to be from Nottingham. These guys have just had an album out too!<br \/>\n<br \/>\nSinger\/Songwriter <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/hannahbarnettmusic\"><strong>HANNAH BARNETT<\/strong><\/a> will play some emotional, inspirational songs with powerful chords.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/elimoose\">ELIAS DIAMANTIS<\/a><\/strong> always puts on a great show with just himself, his ukulele and his skanking dance moves. Different to anything in Nottingham he&#8217;s one guy you must make the time to see.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nThe beautiful <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/gallery47\">GALLERY 47<\/a><\/strong> will play some mellow, thought-provoking acoustic and a voice which could soothe you into a peaceful sleep.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nAnd finally, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/soundcloud.com\/satsumasound\">SATSUMA<\/a><\/strong> will end on some lively banjos and beats which will end the day\/night on a high.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nDoors: 12noon<br \/>\nTickets: FREE!<br \/>\n<br \/>\nYours in love of New Music<br \/>\n<br \/>\nLiz Riordan<br \/>\n<br \/>\nx<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hey Comrades, And hello summer!
