\"\"<\/a>And the winner of the Peace Mix Mic Rally 2012<\/strong> is……GEORGIE ROSE<\/a><\/strong>! We\u2019ve said it a hundred times before and we\u2019ll say it a hundreds time again, but Nottingham really is the most vibrant musical city in the UK<\/strong>! Two months ago, the good people over at Peace Mix<\/a><\/strong> informed us that they would be hitting up Notts YMCA<\/a><\/strong> as part of their national Peace Mix Mic Relay<\/strong>, a tour that goes into publicly funded music studios up and down the country in search for the freshest new acts. After blowing the judges away in the East Midlands leg of the competition, our folky songstress GEORGIE ROSE<\/a><\/strong> sailed into the final round, securing her a slot on the stage at The Eden Project<\/a><\/strong>, Cornwall.

\nA rather excited Georgie said:
\n
\n\u201cSooo thrilled, overjoyed! I said 6 months ago I’d loved to play at the Roundhouse and it’s actually happening! It’s all so unbelievable at the moment I have to keep telling myself it\u2019s real! I\u2019m blessed and honoured to be part of something so incredible. Huge love to everyone who made it possible such as PeaceMix & YMCA. I just ran onto the sea at Cornwall with excitement! X\u201d<\/em>

\nThe Peace Mix Play Off Final<\/strong>, which took place last night, saw some jaw-dropping young acts take the mic – from grimey MCs to soulful singer-songwriters – and compete for the coveted spot supporting Tinchy Strider<\/strong> and Rizzle Kicks<\/strong> at the legendary Camden Roundhouse<\/a><\/strong>. But with her stripped-down performances that showcase delicate guitar accompaniment, heart-felt lyrics and a drop-dead vocal, Georgie fought off the competition to be crowned the champion of Peace Mix 2012! A more than deserving winner, GEORGIE ROSE<\/a><\/strong> has already won the heart of Nottingham and now she\u2019ll be doing the same in the big smoke. \nStuart Clifford from the YMCA was almost as excited and would probably have also run into the sea if Nottingham wasn\u2019t landlocked!

She is a real talent and something Nottingham should be really proud of.
