Seeking some soothing melodies to ease your very soul? Then Nottingham-based Folk outfit <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/rueroyalemusic\">RUE ROYALE<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s upcoming show at the wonderful <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.maltcross.com\/\">Malt Cross<\/a><\/strong> this <strong>Tuesday<\/strong> will be just the tonic.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nHaving built a cult following on the blogosphere and touring circuit, alongside the self-release of their aptly-titled second record \u2018<em>Guide To An Escape<\/em>,\u2019 the Anglo-American duo play a homecoming show of sorts as they return to the city where they began their Folk adventure. Packed to the rafters with quaint guitars and delicate vocals, they create just the kind of ambiance you require for a quiet after-work\/lecture pint. It\u2019s sure to be a show that\u2019ll give you that warm, fuzzy feeling we all crave as summer turns to autumn and college\/uni\/whatever rears it&#8217;s head again. Oh, and the show itself is free, so really you\u2019ve very few excuses to not go along and support the terribly lovely <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/rueroyalemusic\">RUE ROYALE<\/a><\/strong>.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nPRICE: FREE<br \/>\nDOORS: 8pm<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong>GIG TWO<\/strong><br \/>\n<br \/>\nFrom those maniacs over at <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/farmyardrecords.com\/\">Farmyard Records<\/a><\/strong> comes a night of top notch, guitar-driven goodness. Taking place at <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jamcafe.info\/\">The Jam Cafe<\/a><\/strong> as part of the on-going <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/worldeventyoungartists\">WEYA<\/a><\/strong> celebrations, amongst others local favourites <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/kappagammamusic\">KAPPA GAMMA<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"www.facebook.com\/KagouleUK\/\">KAGOULE<\/a><\/strong> will be shaking the stage this <strong>Friday<\/strong> at what promises to be a night not to be missed.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/kappagammamusic\">KAPPA GAMMA<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nWith their self-branded \u2018geography rock\u2019, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/kappagammamusic\">KAPPA GAMMA<\/a><\/strong> are one of Notts\u2019 top up-and-coming bands. Signed to local label <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/denizenrecordings\">Denizen Recordings<\/a><\/strong>, their complex, disjointed rock has notched up a hoard of dedicated supporters as well as securing national radio play on XFM, 6 Music AND Radio 1 with their single <em>\u2018Just Another\u2019<\/em>. With melodies that take you from anthemic highs to spine-tingling lows, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/kappagammamusic\">KAPPA GAMMA<\/a><\/strong> are for lovers of smart, soaring and geographical rock.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"www.facebook.com\/KagouleUK\/\">KAGOULE<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nAlso playing are rock prodigies <strong><a href=\"www.facebook.com\/KagouleUK\/\">KAGOULE<\/a><\/strong>. Haunting vocals, a barrage of bass and intoxicating melodies akin to <strong>The Smashing Pumpkins<\/strong>, this band are sending shockwaves throughout Nottingham (and further afield) as one of the most promising acts around. Expect uproar when their anthem \u2018<em>Made in Concrete<\/em>\u2019 is played too. A band who always deliver live sets brimming with intensity, check out their <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nusic.org.uk\/wordpress\/category\/live-sessions\/\">Future Session<\/a><\/strong> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nusic.org.uk\/wordpress\/future-session-12-42-%E2%80%93-kagoule\/\">HERE<\/a><\/strong> if you don\u2019t believe us.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/leoandtheseraphim\/music\">LEO AND THE SERAPHIM<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nFormely known as <strong>The Foncheros<\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/leoandtheseraphim\/music\">LEO AND THE SERAPHIM<\/a><\/strong> is the latest project of Notts folk favorite <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/chrismcdonalduk\">CHRIS MCDONALD<\/a><\/strong>. Delicately powerful vocals, indulgent melodies and tight as hell performances, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/leoandtheseraphim\/music\">LEO AND THE SERAPHIM<\/a><\/strong> are one of the those bands you can stick on repeat and just not get bored of. With songs that exploit Chris&#8217; natural musicianship and flair for epic songwriting, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/leoandtheseraphim\/music\">LEO AND THE SERAPHIM<\/a><\/strong> are somewhat of a Notts hidden diamond. Look out for familiar faces on the stage too, as Chris is often joined by a who&#8217;s who of Notts musicians in his band.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nPRICE: FREE<br \/>\nDOORS: 9pm<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong>GIG THREE<\/strong><br \/>\n<br \/>\nContinuing with the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/worldeventyoungartists\">WEYA<\/a><\/strong> festivities, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/263421547103118\/\">5 elements of a Hip-Hop Planet <\/a><\/strong>at Nottingham&#8217;s <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Switch-Studios\/139670602770340\">Switch Studios<\/a><\/strong> takes place this <strong>Wednesday<\/strong> and celebrates the city&#8217;s urban side, as well as some incredible talent from all corners of the world!<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/iamkarizz\">KARIZMA<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\n<em>&#8216;Lyrical Soldier&#8217;<\/em> Karizma salutes you with the hard sounds of hip-hop, grime and dubstep. The rapper was a member of the famous <strong>Out Da Ville Crew<\/strong> before going solo to work on his own projects. With influences from <strong>Nick Stez<\/strong>, <strong>Lee Ramsay<\/strong> and <strong>Jay Z<\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/iamkarizz\">KARIZMA<\/a><\/strong> has sprung back and taken his sounds to the next level. You gotta love a bit of Bass shaking.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Duke01\/150567401653402\">DUKE01<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nAlso performing at this exciting International event is <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Duke01\/150567401653402\">DUKE01<\/a><\/strong>. With hip hop being very close to his heart, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Duke01\/150567401653402\">DUKE01<\/a><\/strong>, continually rolls up raw beats with impressive hooks and old school grime. What\u2019s not to like? Following his 6 track album \u2018<em>Steroid Stereo<\/em>\u2019, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Duke01\/150567401653402\">DUKE01<\/a><\/strong> will be celebrating with a release party later on this month.
