STOP PRESS: APRIL TOWERS will now be supporting INDIANA at her Rescue Rooms show.

GIG ONE

If you’ve taken a look at our Facebook page over the past few weeks, you’d have noticed us sharing an awesome opportunity for local young musicians called “Noise From The Next Generation”. Well, it’s an ace competition created by the Nottingham Music Service and supported by the Arts Council England, the Young Creative Awards and ourselves.

There’s a 11-19 category and a 14-19 category, and both of these will see several artists take to either Sobar (11-19) or Rock City (14-19) to battle it out; for some incredible opportunities, that include an automatic place in the Future Sound of Notitngham Semi-Finals plus a Future Session slot, to name but a few.

Each band gets 15 minutes on stage, and that is their time to shine. They have to perform at least two original tracks; which makes us very happy, as you know we don’t lie covers here at Nusic, we want to hear original songwriting. Once all the acts have performed, a panel of independent judges will pick the winner. This is more than a battle of the bands. This is the noise of the next generation!

Doors: Sobar (Monday 7th) – 6:30PM / Rock City (Tuesday 8th) – 7:00PM
Price (both nights): £3 concessions, £5 others.

GIG TWO

The dark-pop queen that is INDIANA will be coming home for her debut Rescue Rooms headline show, and we’re sure it’ll be an amazing experience.

Since we first saw INDIANA in April 2012 at the Future Sound of Nottingham, she’s gone on to very big things. She’s signed a deal with Sony, ended up on Radio 1’s playlist, and even got to sing in front of the Queen (the real one)!

Her last performance in Nottingham left the entire crowd in awe; begging for more. Well, she’s answered your prayers peeps! She’s got a new Nottingham band together, and promises to bring her enticing breed of dark-pop to the Rescue Rooms this Saturday. We highly recommend coming down, as INDIANA’s performances are truly captivating; it might even be a historic night if she becomes only the fifth ever Nottingham act to sell out the venue in it’s history!

Doors: 6:30PM
Price: £10

GIG THREE

THE GORGEOUS CHANS are coming to The Bodega this Sunday, thanks to IKE Productions, and they’re bringing some great local musicians along with them.

For those unfamiliar, THE GORGEOUS CHANS are a very entertaining band. Compromising of eight members, the band’s live shows are always electric! Their unique brand of World-Pop hooks you in, and won’t let go til you’re shouting along all the words to their huge anthems. They’re so good, they won the Future Sound of Nottingham last year, and as such ended up opening Splendour’s main stage. So we’re pretty certain they’ll put on an amazing show at The Bodega!

Opening the night, we have HUNTING HELEN, who make HUGE Acoustic-Rock sounds. As an Acoustic-Rock band it’s hard to distinguish yourself in the popular genre; however HUNTING HELEN do this very well, thanks to frontman Ande’s incredibly distinctive vocals; which are just as good live as on record.

FRANKIE RUDOLF will be up next with his soothing Acoustic sounds. With a songwriting ability well beyond his years; Frankie tells inspiring stories and mixes them with some bloody catchy choruses too. He’s bound to lift your spirits, and makes a great addition to the nights lineup!

SUSPECT ALIBI are last on before THE GORGEOUS CHANS, and we’re sure they’ll set the tone just right. With huge Indie Pop anthems that are bound to get you bouncing all over the place, SUSPECT ALIBI pretty much always put on a stellar performance, and we’re sure they’ll do just the same here.

Doors: 6:30PM
Price: TBC

Yours in Love of New Music,
