Nusic is taking on the big smoke! Thanks to a new collaboration with Nottingham Trent University, we will be bringing the Notts music vibes to NTU’s Graduate Fashion Show after-party later today, where three of Nottingham’s top female solo artists will be performing.

This is a big deal – not just for those performing but also for the Notts music scene as a whole. This is an awesome chance to introduce 200 VIPS, media darlings and fashionistas to what’s going on in the Nottingham music scene. We’ve talked in our editorials about how important it is to reach out and evangelise beyond the River Trent, and we’re really happy this project has finally come together. A great opportunity for the three artists performing, a great chance for us to inject awareness about Nottingham’s vibrant music scene right into the bosom of the London media industry. And like it or loathe London’s got the most influential media bosom in the country, so you’ve got to snuggle up to it.

Reppin’ Notts Soul scene, HARLEIGHBLU has the ability to turn heads from her first note with an effortlessly gorgeous vocal. Signed to one of the UK’s leading independent labels Tru Thoughts & with an album on its way, HARLEIGHBLU delivers sweet & sultry Soul you’d be mad to resist, in fact I’m mad even saying that YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RESIST!

In the Folk corner we have the ever lovely GEORGIE ROSE. Soaring melodies & a voice that would melt the hardest of hearts, her elegantly crafted acoustic Folk is just the ticket to show London what the Notts Folk scene is all about.

And doing it for all the Chuck Norris obsessives is IZZY MARIE HILL. An NTU student this 20 year old pours her heart, soul & everything else into songs that touch on topics from heartache to Jim Carrey & are completely mesmerising because of it. And Scott Mills thinks she’s ace.

Between artists Mark Del will be DJ’ing sets consisting entirely of Notts music.

That’s it really, we’re really stoked this is finally happening and would love to offer an online high five to Ann, Maggie, James and everyone at NTU that has made this happen.

Big up.

Yours in Love of New Music,
Maddie Hammond. X
