S’up Comrades?

The gigs we’ve got for you this week are absolutely banging.

The first gig is OXJAM ACOUSTIC SESSIONS at The Bodega Social on Thursday 13th October.

There are 2 stages for this event, one outdoor, one indoor.

Indoor:
JONATHAN MILLETT
BAND OF JACKALS will show off their blues inspired rock to us all, fronted by a very lovely man with an amazingly gravelly voice. Make the venture upstairs to catch these!
MICHAEL LYNCH
THE GOLDEN TROUBADORS
GALLERY 47 will humbly take to the stage to sing songs about love, cats and frogs. His voice is so enchanting, I could watch him sing all day.
WILL JEFFREY

Outdoor:
TONY MCCONELL
LOUIS SCOTT
AARON SMITH
ADAM PETER SMITH is usually seen busking round the city centre but this gig sees him take his set somewhere a bit warmer. A very clean cut man with even slicker songs to play. Make sure you don’t miss him.
JAMES CLARKE
NINA SMITH. Not a day goes by where I don’t play Nina’s new EP ‘Lonely Heart Club’. She’s got so much soul and her voice is absolutely beautiful. Listen to my favourite track of hers ‘Sexy Surprise’ on the New Music Podcast 010.

Tickets: £3 (all proceeds go to Oxfam)
Doors: 7.30pm

And if you’re missing The Bodega Social too much after the night before SPOTLIGHT KID and I AM LONO are playing on Friday 14th.

I AM LONO are like a combination of Joy Division and Mount Kimbie. They bind songs together using pretty noises and snap, crackles and pops that you usually only get from a bowl of Rice Krispies. I can’t wait to see them at this.

‘Band of the Moment’ and Guardian favourites SPOTLIGHT KID will be on the second night of their first full UK tour. They play fast-paced rock under dreamy vocals from their beautiful front-woman Katty Heath. Catch em in an intimate venue whilst you still can, as the momentum for them builds and builds we doubt they’ll be back.

Tickets: £6 adv.
Doors: 7pm

Our final gig of the week is CULTURAL VIBRATIONS at the Nottingham Playhouse on Sunday 16th.

It’s a big big line up for you with an amazing array of genres showcasing the amazing diversity of talent in the Nottingham music scene, all in one night.

JIMMY THE SQUIRREL will give us something to skank to.
BREADCHASERS will get the party started with their mix of reggae punk.
KARIZMA is representing the urban scene with his concoction of grime, dub and hip-hop.
SAINT RAYMOND will hit us with our indie hit, listen out for lead singer Callum’s voice. It’s incredible.
MARVIN BROWN whose soulful swagger was featured on the last New Music Podcast.
NINA SMITH is awesome as aforementioned.
MIQUE started singing in church with her grandmother. She has such a powerful soulful voice.
KAMBASEMBA sing in Portugese but take you all over the world as they perform genres ranging from samba to flamenco.
ELENA HARGREAVES will take us down the folky road with her acoustic set.

Tickets: £10 (£8 Concessions)
Doors: 7pm

If you like the look of this event our friends at LeftLion are giving away 2 tickets here.

Yours In Love Of New Music,

Danielle
