Now that even the most scrooge human you’ll find is at least a little bit in the Xmas spirit, there’s plenty of New Notts Music with a hint of Christmas cheer to get him out and about.

THURSDAY – SUNDAY

Jam Cafe have got a whole long-weekends worth of musical awesomeness for ya this week, featuring a proper eclectic bunch of Notts muso’s.

There’s so much to get yersen involved with, we’ve summarised just a handful below. Ya can see the whole lineup HERE.

DAUDI MATSIKO will return to his spiritual home on Thursday. If you’re unfamiliar – Daudi is responsible for some of the most heart-warming, and heart-breaking Folk songs we have ever heard. Beautifully delicate, he’s full of proper “leave the room silent vibes”. If you plan to talk during his set… don’t. If you fancy a proper Pop bop, TWIN KIDD will have ya bopping all over the place. They’ve only put four studio recordings into the big wide world, but each one of them is full of super catchy melodies and groovy… well, grooves. CATBONE are up on Saturday to give you all the sick riff indulgency you could ever ask for. Whatever your go-to guitar music move is – whether that’s headbanging, air guitar, maybe a confused little jump? It’ll be coming out in full force to these guys. Finally, on the Sunday… there are a lot of bands who… are bloody difficult to find on the web. Even our super-stalking skills (sorry, we mean ‘researching’) couldn’t find anything on em. But, we’re told they’re a right eclectic bunch who’ll round the weekend off nicely.

FRIDAY

Everybody’s favourite “band influenced by their local convenience store” are back, and they’re headlining The Bodega this time.

PAPER SHOP DAVE have got that classic Indie sound nailed. Super catchy guitar riffs, plenty of swagger, and some massive singalong choruses too. Their material is diverse, one second in your face riff-tacular tunes, the next, a more delicate ballad. Awh. Also – It’s their last show of 2016, so we’re expecting them to go in BIG. Ya know, like Christmas EXPLOSIONS? Maybe. Fingers crossed.

SUPER FURNITURE are supporting, rounding off a killer 2016 for them. From releasing debut single ‘Vultures’ (which still sounds just as awesome), becoming champs of #FSN2016, opening Splendour Fest, plus playing loads of cool shows over the past few months. It’s not been a bad yeat for em has it? The Alt-Rock-Indie-Impossible-To-Describe band will help set the tone just right for PSD.

SHORT WEEKENDS are also supporting. Despite being in their mid-teens, these guys have nailed their unique take on Indie. High-energy, full of super catchy riffs, and, some very catchy keyboard lines too. You’ll be doing a good old fashioned hum-along for a good few days.

SATURDAY

Mimm are having a mega Xmas blowout at Suede Bar this weekend, and they’ve got a killer live lineup to have you ho ho hoing in style.

After they debuted their sick live show a few months ago, CONGI are back to showcase their mind-blowing, trippy, Electronic sounds. SHELTER POINT will bring their spacey Electronic sounds too. If you’re a fan of them high notes, wait until you hear vocalist Liam’s falsetto. It’s mind-blowing. YAZMIN LACEY & THE ECHOES will bring all the soulful vibes ya could ever ask for. Ya know those kinda voices that feel like they can sort out all your problems just by listening? Yeah, she’s got one of them. ELLA KNIGHT is gonna keep them Soulful vibes going, on more of an Acoustic tip. But – with just as awesome of a voice.

There’ll also be DJ sets from GrimAz, Missy, Medikul and Theodore Freshmore.
