Here is your weekly gig guide for the best musical goodness in Nottingham this week! Take your pick from electro, indie, ska and a big metal fest on Sunday!

GIG ONE

I’M NOT FROM LONDON presents THE TORPEDOES, BOOTS BOOKLOVERS and GREAT BRITISH WEATHER at THE JAM CAFE on Friday the 17th of February.

BOOTS BOOKLOVERS were very worthy finalists in our competition to support DOG IS DEAD at ROCK CITY and they even came joint first in the public vote stage demonstrating that they have an ever-increasing following. Loud indie pop reminiscent of ELVIS COSTELLO AND THE ATTRACTIONS. Check out our Future Session with them here.

Indie/Rock N Rollers GREAT BRITISH WEATHER will produce heavy basslines and catchy guitar riffs guaranteed to get you out your seats and bopping along.

Headlining are THE TORPEDOES who play BEATLES, CHUCK BERRY and LITTLE RICHARD songs at break neck speed, prepare to twist your socks off.

DOORS: 8:30
TICKETS: FREE

GIG TWO

On the same night we have THE FILAMENTS, BREADCHASERS and JIM LOCKEY & THE SOLEMN SUN at THE MAZE on Friday the 17th of February.

BREADCHASERS are Nottingham’s ska-party explosion! Attracting skankers to the front of the stage like tramps to chips since 2009. Enough energy to spark a riot, this 6 piece are unmissable.

DOORS: 8:30pm
TICKETS: £7 adv £9 OTD

GIG THREE

Finally we have Half Term Metal @ THE MAZE with SEVERED, SHRAPNEL, PULL THE TRIGGER, DELIVER US TO EVIL and KICK THE RABBIT on Sunday the 19th of February.

Headliners SEVERED are fuelled by the frustration towards generic music and stereotypical images. The band sets to break out and rise above the lack of experimentation that is within the UK’s music scene. Influenced by the likes of SLIPKNOT and LIMP BIZKIT this lot stick a middle finger up to the system.

PULL THE TRIGGER make some serious metal noises. Fast paced and gloriously terrifying, dive into the mosh pits and hope you come out alive.

DELIVER US TO EVIL serve up some delicious old-school thrash metal and execute it with style. Moshing is a requirement.

KICK THE RABBIT’s mission is to rape angels, eat bacon and party on they’re way to kicking many many rabbits. Confused and slightly scared? Me too. Go check them out…unless you are a rabbit.

DOORS:7:00pm
TICKETS: £3 adv £4 otd

Yours in Love of New Music,
