GIG ONE

From Monday through to Friday, The Royal Concert Hall will be opening it’s doors to the Game City Festival, “Europe’s biggest and best-loved videogame culture festival,” as the gamers reach out to Nottingham’s vibrant music scene and embrace live music. Curated by local promoters Farmyard Records a dose musical Nottingham talent will be entertaining the gaming massives at 6pm each day.

Monday showcases the acoustic indie swagger of Mr SAM JONES, who some of you may remember from our bunch of talented FSN finalists. Tuesday we have the soulful indie hooks of LEE GOUGH, a longstanding Nottingham favorite who just has that knack of writing tunes you just can’t help but hum. Wednesday see’s  our blues extraordinaire RYAN THOMAS, who as shown in his Future Session here still continues to posses the most bling guitar in all of robin hood land.

Next on Thursday Game City are lucky enough to be graced with the gorgeous acoustic folk talents of ALEXA HAWKSWORTH, with Friday hosting the one and only GEORGIE ROSE, probably one of the hardest working (and utterly captivating) musicians in our great county.

GIG TWO

This Thursday Under The Tree are giving us an extra delicious Oxjam special at the delectable Malt Cross, with an equally scrumptious lineup. To kick the night off we have talented Notts folk singer-songwriter GEORGE HOLROYD, followed by welsh boys Nothing North Of Alaska and NTU student/singer-songwriter IZZY MARIE HILL. Next of our local kin is CEDRIC PETERS, a duo with the power to captivate an audience with their delicate vocal melodies and heartfelt songwriting. Last on the lineup local nutters BAND OF JACKALS with their self proclaimed style of ‘Inner-City Desert Rock.’  Well this should be fun…

GIG THREE

Finishing the week off in style, the Maze is set to host a Notts-lover’s delight on Sunday, with what can only be described as a truly fantabulous lineup, all for charity Oxjam style.

Kicking it off on the Acoustic stage we have the graceful charm of EMMA BLADON JONES, then the poetic mastery of MARC REEVES, the endearingly fragile and enchanting vocals of LEAH SINEAD, the hip hop vibes of Mr ASHMORE, the elegantly brilliant ALEXA HAWKSWORTH, the dynamic duo’s CEDRIC PETERS and HEAVYHEADS, finishing off with indie folkster SAM JONES.

While all that is going on, you also have the band stage downstairs with equally Notts-loving lineup. First up are blues rockers THE FADE, followed by Leeds boys InSatallites, Indie poppers HUSKIES, electro trio LOOPHOLE PROJECT, the ever expanding GORGEOUS CHANS, the upeat reggae surfers STUCK IN 2ND, Hip hop lyricists  GREAT SCOTT, the party startin’ AFTERDARK MOVEMENT, finishing it all off with the all out raver’s JUST JAMES. Not to mention Nottingham’s finest ladies with vinyl’s Stiff Kittens! Blimey!
