GIG ONE

Say goodbye to August this Thursday with the Acoustickle Special Summer Party at The Maze. With all new acoustic artists taking to the stage, this event is the perfect way to send off the summer.

EMMA BLADON JONES
Hailing from Beeston, singer-songwriter EMMA BLADON JONES will start the night of chilled summer vibes. With soft vocals, melodic guitar and rich harmonies, Emma’s folky acoustic pop will wash over you like a summer breeze. The perfect music for a picnic, EMMA BLADON JONES is an up-and-coming folk force. Keep an eye out for her debut EP ‘Life is Self Taught’ out now.

IN THE TEEPEES
Just two young lads and their guitars, IN THE TEEPEES are next on the stage. Plucky guitars and impossibly infectious melodies channelling the likes of Indie giants The Libertines, IN THE TEEPEES may be young but they’ve locked on to a winning sound. A Notts hidden gem, kick back and enjoy the Indie-Pop of IN THE TEEPEES.

HAYLEY AHERN
Come and immerse yourself in the beguiling vocals of HAYLEY AHERN next. Taking it back to basics with just an acoustic guitar accompaniment, her vocals laden with vulnerability are goose-bump inducing. Flirting with country, soul and folk, Hayley effortlessly commands the attention of the room from the moment she sings that first note.

TRIANGLE
Prepare to be captivated by the mesmerising music of TRIANGLE. Lead by guitar maestro David Atkin, his intricate guitar weaving is backed by the softly soaring flute melodies of Richard Jurgins and Nick McGill on the viola. Something a little different, prepare to be hypnotised by the music of TRIANGLE.

RED BEAR
Final act on stage will be the utterly unique RED BEAR. ¼ of CAPTAIN DANGEROUS, Adam Clarkson writes from the perspective of a bear in 1939 Finnish Karelia with the prospect of the Russian Invasion looming. No, we’re not kidding. Strangely enough, the combination of catchy melodies, fantasy lyrics and Adam’s softly powerful vocals make the music of RED BEAR completely addictive. The only ‘Forest Pop’ band we know of, don’t miss out on RED BEAR.

SARA TEHRANI
Kicking off the night will be impressive young poet SARA TEHRANI. Relatively new to the scene, she dazzles audiences with her intelligent mixture of emotions and imagery. SARA TEHRANI is something a little different from the rest of the night and definitely not one to be missed.

RYAN THOMAS
Having been on every podcast for the last 2 months, RYAN THOMAS has won us over at Nusic HQ with his old-man blues. With melancholy, haunting, acoustic tunes such as ‘Hangover Blues’ and ‘Don’t Strike Me Down’, his music is reminiscent of a certain other young Nottingham bluesy acoustic artist…

RAINBOW DOWN
Something a little different, RAINBOW DOWN is a quirky electronic solo act whose influences range from ‘8bit to 80s electro-pop to industrial’. The self-proclaimed ‘electro/homo/solo’ artist uses catchy melodies with experimental sounds to convey his message. His album ‘Primary’ is available for free download on his website.

ADAM PETER SMITH
Someone you may or may not have seen busking outside Marks & Spencers armed with just a guitar and an incredible voice, ADAM PETER SMITH sounds like a cross between Jose Gonzalez and Snow Patrol. With catchy songs that display an incredible amount of angst and emotion, check out his Future Session with us HERE to see what we mean.

TOM THOMPSON
After wowing the crowd at Under The Tree’s first ever show, TOM THOMPSON will intrigue you with his intelligent poetic style.

FRAZER LOWRIE
Following his Future Session (which you can see HERE), FRAZER LOWRIE has continued to wow crowds with his brilliant and unique approach to acoustic music. Penultimate act of the night, Frazer challenges the conventions of singer-songwriters with his subtle use of electronics and strikingly powerful vocals. Upbeat acoustic pop songs that will get you on your feet and onto the floor, keep your ears peeled for personal favourite ‘For the Better’.

JOE DANKS
Having finished in the Top 3 at this year’s Future Sound Of Nottingham competition JOE DANKS will be filling the headline slot at Under The Tree. Aged only 17, his ‘folk tinged pop’ is reminiscent of Ben Howard with his soft vocal style, mellow guitar and a voilin thrown in to add that certain je ne sais quoi. Guaranteed acoustic anthems that you won’t be able to stop singing!
