GIG ONE

Kicking off our top three in gruesome style is THE FADE’s Halloween Album launch party at the Jam Cafe this Thursday. If you haven’t seen these blues rockers live yet, then you’re in for a treat. Showcasing their new labour of love in the form of their album ‘Afterglow’, expect some meaty guitars, ballsy bass and a vegetarian rhythm section? Yep these guys have as many massive riffs as they have quorn recipes, so if you want to find out there’s only one place you need to be.

Supporting THE FADE on their night of haunted rock is the equally overdriven WATERS EDGE, and the indie acoustic extraordinaire GEORGE GADD.

GIG TWO

Coming to the Albert Hall on Friday this week we have THE INVISIBLE ORCHESTRA’s Grand Masquerade Ball, which promises to be a grandiose affair indeed. With their last two show’s selling out well in advance, this 32 piece orchestra definitely know how to draw in a crowd with their colossal arrangements, combining elements from jazz and soul to arabic punk and more. And with a stack load of Nottingham bread musical geniuses, it’s sure to be a spectacle to be admired.

That’s not to forget support from London’s City Shanty Band and the audio-visual Nottingham marvel that is ORIGAMIBIRO. These three gentlemen in particular marvel in themselves, combining traditional instruments with sounds conceived from mere household items together with visuals that create a beautiful creative atmosphere that you can’t help but gawk at in wonder. Combining these three acts into one of Nottingham’s most majestic venues makes this show one for the diary.

Don’t forget your mask!

GIG THREE

This Saturday we have a top lineup from a new notts venue Cappuchaino. Open a mere two months, this new café is definitely worth a gander, and a night like this would be a brilliant time to do so.

Kicking it off are the delicate yet beautiful sounds of CEDRIC PETERS. Anyone lucky enough to catch this act live will know how captivating his performance is, a definite hidden gem in the local scene.

Next on the bill is the inspiring duo HEAVYHEADS. With one of the most charismatic stage presences and some lovingly crafted acoustic numbers to boot, these two young gentleman will most certainly grab your ears and eye’s attention the moment they step on stage.

And to finish the night off we have the blues folk extraordinaire we all know and love, GEORGIE ROSE. With the charm of Elvis and the flair of Stevie Nicks, it’s understandable this young performer is creating such a buzz at the moment. Be sure to catch her soon before this girl is giving Mr Bugg a run for the No.1 spot.
