September may be all dark, cold and a bit crap so far but it has blessed us with some beaut gigs this weekend. There’s a headline show / mini pre album launch at The Angel, a night of Electronic music at Rough Trade and a headline show turned album launch at Rescue Rooms.

FRIDAY

APRIL TOWERS are playing The Angel on Friday as a sorta pre album launch show where they’ll be playing some of the tracks from their new album ‘Certified Freaky’ for the first time live. The Electro Pop album is set for recording early next year, funded with the help of a Pledge Music campaign.

AT will be supported by fellow Electro Pop pair CHROMA BAY. The duo formed just over a year ago and have blessed us with some absolutely beaut tracks, including the insanely catchy ‘Gravitational’ which will force your central nervous system to do a lil’ bop.

SATURDAY

This Saturday sees Rough Trade and SHELTER POINT come together to present ‘Cadence’, an evening of live Electronic music for your ears to delight at.

CONGI will be headlining the night with live performance from the music producer turned DJ duo. The pair, who were part of Giles Peterson’s Future Bubblers project in Year 1, released their latest EP in May, mixing Dubstep, Hip Hop, Soul, Grime and Jazz creating a beautiful blend.

Not only have SHELTER POINT put on this stellar line up, they’ll be playing it too. The duo’s electronic soundscape features ethereal, spacey sounds and an incredible yet haunting falsetto. They’ve got fans in high places too including Annie Mac and Zane Lowe.

The spectacular BONE CULT are performing. If you haven’t seen their live show yet, imagine two topless men absolutely covered in tattoos, wearing these like light up death masks, playing incredible ‘Death Electronica’ all in whilst in front of an amazing light show.

Finally, LUKE PETER FOSTER will be bringing you his bluesy Alternative Word. His EP ‘Even When It Pours’ was released earlier in the year, taking inspo from everything rain related. Check out his Future Session here to take a listen.

SATURDAY

VANITY BOX are launching their album ‘Chance Would Be A Fine Thing’ and are only headlining bloody Rescue Rooms! The Indie Rock band formed back in 2009 and are known for making really impressive music videos to go with their songs. The album is out on September 4th so you’ve got a few days to get learning them tracks.

FALLING OFF MAPS will be supporting. The band actually had their name and their album name, ‘A Seaside Town in Winter,’ in place before they had even written their first note. Their music is themed around the notion of those two terms.

You can also catch Jack Seviour from Derby.
