It’s rare for the Top Three to feature the same venue twice in one week. It’s even rarer for one venue to feature in all three gigs. But, Rough Trade have absolutely BOSSED IT this week, with killer gigs going off almost every night. Below are three that you should definitely get yersen involved with.

MONDAY

CHERRY HEX & THE DREAM CHURCH are releasing their EP ‘Tea of Tears’ this week, and what better way to celebrate than… A LAUNCH PARTY.

Yup – the minimal Electro-Pop duo have been *football manager impression* putting the work in this year. And, in the last twelve months have gone from initial demos, to a complete change in sound, gigs practically every other day, and now – the release of their debut EP. They’ve described themselves as ‘weird Pop music’, and we’d agree – but the good weird, the interesting weird, the “ooh, I haven’t heard this before but I really like it and I’m gonna be singing this for daaaays” kinda weird. Ya feel me?

LUKE PETER FOSTER will bring his ‘Alternative Rap’ to the stage pre CH. LPF has a thing for spacey Hip-Hop beats. And they’ll hook you in from the second the beat drops. That’s even before his word play takes ahold of your mind. Have a listen to his Soundcloud to get what we mean, and let him transport you to a spacey intellectual paradise.

GEORGINA WOOD will also support with her DIY Pop sounds. She’s released her own debut EP earlier this year, and it’s full of some proper catchy Pop tunes. And similar to the other two artists on the bill, she’s got this really distinctive sound to her productions, which you’ll pick up on pretty much straight away.

TUESDAY

SILVER WILSON and THE CHASE are taking over RT on Tuesday. SILVER WILSON are winners of the “music that most makes you want to dance and be happy” award dontcha know?.. Okay, that’s not a real award but if it was they would most definitely win it. Sunshine-pop mixed with super catchy guitars and an undeniable groove. *CLICHE* grab yer dancing shoes, you’ll need em.

THE CHASE bring all the Indie swagger you could ever ask for in a band. In fact, the made-up-by-sam award that they’d probably win is the “most swaggerful three piece that also has a knack for a catchy melody” award. Probs. Either way, you can expect them to hit ya with a massive wall of sound, which is also gonna get ya moving all over the place. Comfy dancing shoes are probs a good idea.

FRIDAY

Under The Tree are back for their annual Christmas celebration, and as always, they’re bringing some of Notts finest acoustic talent with them.

ELANA kicks things off. You may have seen her smash a support slot at BILLIE’s EP launch a few weeks ago, if you didn’t then here’s what you can expect – beaut singer-songwriter vibes, haunting vocals, and more than a little bit of “I don’t even want to check my phone right now cos I’m so encaptured by her stunning performance”. Got it? Good.

King of Bluesy Americana RYAN FARMER takes to the stage next, with his foot-stomping singalongs. Transporting you to some deep Westerm movie, he’ll have ya necking Whiskey and going through a right mixed bag of emotions. From euphoric catchy bliss, to heart-churning ballad’s, he can make you feel all the feels.

DAISY GODFREY is up next, paired with guitarist Ryan, they’ll have you hooked in with some proper Soulful Pop-Jazz stylings. Daisy has one of those voices that anyone can appreciate, and guitarist Ryan – well his fingers move so fast on that fretboard we’re slightly concerned he may not be human. We are not concerned about their ability to blow you away musically though, that’s a given.

Finally, we have VERA GULL taking to the stage. Practically a Notts supergroup of some of the finest Acoustic talent, all thrown into one musical mashup. I was finding them hard to describe, but turns out they did a pretty good job with their own description… take it away VG – “darkness tinged Indie-Pop”. Awesome.
