GIG ONE

A very special night this Monday as one of our most hotly tipped talents SAINT RAYMOND takes to a packed out Bodega, with soul-man-meets-parliament-hotshot JOEL BAKER in tow.

A guy who’s been going from strength to strength this year, SAINT RAYMOND celebrates just how far he’s come with a sold out gig in his hometown, halfway through his hugely successful debut headline UK tour. His signature Indie Pop is a a suberb balance of sharp lyrics and grittier meanings, subtly disguised by Callum’s cheeky charisma and youthful musicality. Having only signed to Asylum/Atlantic Records last month, this is sure to be the start of a long and exciting SAINT RAYMOND journey.

Keeping it in the Nottingham family, Callum’s support for the night will be (probably) the most Soulful parliamentary bag carrier ever JOEL BAKER. A husky, rock voice and an acoustic guitar, this ‘fantastic singer-songwriter’ (Zane Lowe’s words – not mine) has a Soulful edge that sets him apart. An incredible knack for writing incredible songs, prepare to be blown away by Mr Baker.

PRICE: £6*

*Unfortunately (but not surprisingly) this event has now sold out. Given what a good night it should be, keep an eye or two peeled for any tickets going – you won’t regret it!

GIG TWO

I’m Not From London are taking over The Golden Fleece this Thursday for a top notch night of tasty musical grub.

On the bill are  Noir Wave Indie outfit IN ISOLATION. We don’t know what Noir Wave means either, but these lads do it well. Mixing 80′s new-wave synth with soft punk undertones, this band are well worth seeing live and trying not to dance to them is like trying not to lick your lips after munching on donuts.

Bursting with Punk-like energy and electrifying rhythms, CARCASS FIT FOR HOUNDS are the new band on the block ready to take you back to the bygone days when Punk was alive and kicking. Not a lot is known about these guys (except for that the drummer is no other than FSN 2012 runner up JOE DANKS) but the four tracks they have on their Bandcamp has enough energy to make your ears bleed.

Experimental Hardcore Metal from newbies KNIFE CUTTER. With huge, tumultuous riffs and endless energy, this band is not for the faint hearted, so much so you’ll struggle to believe there’s only two of them. The kind of band you’re Nana would probably hate, but we like them so it’s alright.

London lads Spectres complete the bill.

GIG THREE

Another INFL gift this Friday at The Jamcafe. A Very Good Gig Indeed is…well…a very good gig indeed and won’t cost you a penny! Who said the best things in life aren’t free?!

Alternative Rockers The Dead Souls bring their no-frills approach to the forefront in a 90′s Grunge revival that will titillate any Cobain worshipping, plaid wearing music lover. GQ described them as a ‘modern British band playing like they’re trapped in a 1992 Seattle dive bar’, and that pretty much hits the nail on the head. Loud, atmospheric, Grunge perfection.

Headlining are Nottingham newbies A PLASTIC ROSE. The band have already notched up several plays on a little station called Radio 1 with their single ‘Kids Don’t Behave Like This’ . The choruses are big, the vocals are fragile and the whole package is epic – Angsty Pop-Rock that’s alight with Post-Grunge touches. They won us over at their welcome gig, and we’re pretty sure they’ll be just as good here. A PLASTIC ROSEyou are most definitely not shite.

Londoners Arrows of Love complete the lineup.
