GIG ONE

This Thursday, a momentous occasion for AMBER with their first hometown gig since announcing their signing to RCA Records! All taking place at The Bodega.

The way they’ve been snapped up so quickly shows AMBER are on to something pretty special. Fragility-laden but utterly powerful vocals are complimented by reverberating guitars and glorious melodies that will have you either singing your heart out or sitting in stunned silence. They wowed the audience at last month’s Nottingham Rocks event, no doubt they’ll do the same here. Check lead singer Joe’s Future Session from Spring 2012 HERE.

Hitchin-based Rhodes provide the support.

GIG TWO

This Saturday, Nottingham welcomes back SPOTLIGHT KID at The Chameleon. With support from GREAT BRITISH WEATHER & I AM LONO, this promises to be one funk filled night you can’t afford to miss.

One of our most established bands,  SPOTLIGHT KID are responsible for some serious waves of excitement across the UK music scene. With shimmering guitars, beautiful boy/girl harmonies and killer tunes, this six-piece have mastered a perfect combination of shoegaze noise and melody. Miss them here & miss out.

Indie-driven Funk next with the lads at GREAT BRITISH WEATHER. They wowed the crowd at this year’s Dot to Dot, their syncopated, funk-driven beats and incredible guitar lines filling the floor and turning Stealth into a futuristic disco. My money’s on them doing it again at this event, check their Future Session from Autumn 2011 HERE.

Another act who smashed D2D 2013, Electronic due I AM LONO complete the bill. With electro hooks that will make your head spin, big beats meet thrashy guitars and impassioned vocals creating pounding, paranoid Pop gold that is enticingly dark. A delicious combination. See their Future Session HERE.

GIG THREE

Brought to you by Bees Make Honey & Sherwood legends Gringo Records, this Saturday at  Stuck on a Name Studios, this is a night for all you guitar lovers.

Having secured plays on XFM & Radio 1 in the past few months, things are really picking up for CANTALOUPE. Signed to local label Hello Thor, CANTALOUPE effortlessly fuse together synthy elements of afrobeat and disco that are sure to add a certain je ne sais quoi to proceedings.

Prepare to have your guts shaken with the next act. Known for their epic loudness, distinctive hard-core grunge sounds and general fuck you attitude, GREY HAIRS have a give-it-all-or-go-home approach to their performances that’s completely infectious. They also possess the ability to smash it at all venue sizes, from this year’s Dot to Dot to people’s living rooms.

Three piece NORDENFELT are something else. Fusing guitar based rock with retro synths and a bag full of crazy effects they sing songs and tell stories about interesting things. Without a doubt one of the most unique and brilliantly bands Notts has to offer.

Leeds band That Fucking Tank complete the bill.

PRICE: £5/£4 NUS or Unwaged (BYOB)
