GIG THREE

This Friday at the Rescue Rooms sees three of Notts musical forces come together for a night of mind-blowing vocals. Mooch on over, down your drink of choice and celebrate the start of the weekend.

ATTICUS ANTHEM
Celebrating the release of their latest EP ‘Lovers Stay Home’, four-piece ATTICUS ANTHEM are back and headliners of the night. Fronted by that ‘softly spoken kid with tattoos’ Bjorn Franklin, their soaring Alt-Rock is an almighty combination of big melodies and anthemic choruses. Mix in their nostalgic lyrics of love and loss and you have something that’s pretty damn epic. Why not treat yourself to an CD at the event too?! You won’t regret it.

THE BARNUM MESERVE
If you haven’t seen this band live yet, you really need to. There may only three of them but THE BARNUM MESERVE are a musical powerhouse live, their heart-swelling choruses and Leon Wiley’s uncompromising, raucous vocals guaranteed to shake you to the core. Great on record they’re even better live so do not deny yourself the pleasure of THE BARNUM MESERVE.

GALLERY 47
Beautiful balledry that takes it back to basics, GALLERY 47 completes the lineup. Taking cues from the greats like Nick Drake and Bob Dylan, Jack Peachey serves up evocative lyrics and gorgeous melodies glistening with yearning. Completely lovely.

PS. Big big shout out to Our Big Gig at the Arboretum this Sunday! With all the fun and whatnot of FSN, this gig slipped past our beady eyes so did not make it into our top three. Brought to you by Live and Local, in association with Trentsound, NottinghamLive.co.uk and I’m Not From London, these maniacs have somehow been allowed to take over the Arboretum Bandstand to bring you a cracking lineup of local acts. If you’re not too dead from the weekend’s antics, this should be top of your Sunday to-do list. Check it out HERE.

Yours in Love of New Music,
Maddie Hammond & Caroline Swaby X
