GIG ONE

It’s always a special night when a homegrown act gets to play their own show at an incredible local venue. Now it’s TASHA DEAN‘s turn. Headlining this Friday at The Playhouse for Cultural Vibrations, this firey little soulstress is sure to blow you away with her sunshine R & B. Her uplifting soulful vocals will cheer up even the mardiest of folk and the infectious beat leaves you craving more. One listen to the gloriously 80’s ‘Hooked For Life’  (which has already had plays on Radio 1xtra) and you too will be…well, hooked for life. She wowed at this years FSN and is sure to do the same here, check out her Future Session HERE to seal the deal.

PRICE: £6-£8
DOORS: 8pm

GIG TWO

A slightly sad event next as we bid a fond farewell to one of the most outrageously fun and brilliantly chaotic local acts ROYAL GALA this Friday at The Maze. Come along for one last hoorah and indulge in a night of  bittersweet merriment.

9 piece super band ROYAL GALA have been knocking around Nottingham for a while now (7 years to be precise) & sadly the time has come for them to part ways (boo). In true RG style however, they’re doing this with one massive party. If you enjoy a dash of diversity in your music, this band will tick all your boxes as they are an electrifying blend of funk, ska, reggae, dub, latin and electro swing. Not many groups could pull off such a mash-up and still sound completely solid, yet ROYAL GALA do it with ease. For one last time, please join the band in one massive super-skank and get ready to dance until the early hours.

PRICE: £6*
DOORS: 9pm

*As it’s going to be such a wicked event, we’ve been informed all advanced tickets have been snapped up. Rumor has it there might be a few cheeky spares on the door, we advise you to check with the venue in advance.

GIG THREE

Celebrating another one of our most established acts this Saturday at The Jamcafe as  THE SMEARS mark ten whole years of being the most hardcore girls in Notts.

Showing that girls can rock harder and louder and can do it in heels, THE SMEARS have smashed any girl group preconceptions and smashed several stages while doing so. These lasses stamp a stiletto through the heart of Punk, with driving bass-lines, grunge metal madness and a fearless attitude – imagine the lovechild of Patti Smith & Courtney Love with the attitude & vehemence of The Sex Pistols and you have THE SMEARS: Nottingham’s Goddesses of Punk Rock.

Supporting them on the night and proving that guitar music is still alive and kicking, KILL CHAOS will deliver some gritty, old-school rock. With more energy than a Duracell bunny, this 3-piece powerhouse will have you head banging with intoxicating hooks and unstoppable performances.

PRICE: FREE
DOORS: 8.30pm

Yours in Love of New Music,
