It’s become a bit of a Future Sound of Nottingham tradition to have a special performance after all the finalists have played whilst we try and add up the scores. We are now delighted to share with you that this year’s special guest is….SAINT RAYMOND! I had a bit of a chinwag with the main man aka Callum Burrows before tonight’s event…

2013 has been going pretty well for you so far – you’re almost famous! Let’s start with talking about your recent tour with Gabrielle Aplin. What was that like?
That was amazing, to get the chance to tour with Gabrielle and for it to be in Europe was an experience ill never forget

How did it feel being played on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show?
That was such a great feeling, I discover alot of artists on that show so to have been played 4 times on it now is so good

So with those two things in mind, what’s been your best musical moment so far?
That’s hard! My ep release was a special one, Maybe splendour last year or my headline show at the playhouse which sold out, I couldn’t pick one

…And your worst?
Nothing majorly just gig incidents, snapping strings, guitar strap falling off etc

What’s it like playing the Rock City main stage?
That was another ‘moment’ for me, it’s a stage I’ve always wanted to play and to get to play it to a busy rock city was something special

The Future Sound of Nottingham is all about giving new artists a bit of a kick start. Any tips for aspiring musicians?
Gig a lot and work hard! They are such obvious ones but at early doors its all about just gigging as much as possible and just doing all you can to write new material and get people to hear it

And what are your thoughts on the Notts music scene at the moment?
It’s a real good vibe at the moment, it’s a real buzz and everyone is supporting each other

Things are really taking off for you at the moment, what else is in the pipeline for Saint Raymond?
It’s been a crazy few months but at the minute it’s festivals my headline tour and another ep and writing the album

And finally, anything you’d like to say to the Notts music lovers?
Keep supporting the scene, the love you get from the hometown is like no other!

Yours in Love of New Music,
Maddie Hammond.X
