Bank holiday weekend not enough for you? If you still need more excuses to indulge in live music then look no further…

GIG ONE – MONDAY 19:00 7/5/12 STOP PRESS INDIANA and JAKE have had to pull out at the last minute due to illness and have been replaced by JOSHUA KEOGH.

First up on Monday we have a mini acoustic festival! Picking up on already high weekly standards, Acoustic Rooms at the Rescue Rooms have really cranked it up a notch this week to bring you the creamiest of the local acoustic crop around for an all-night feast of incredible music.

Kicking off proceedings at 8pm is MICHAEL LYNCH. Having reached the Future Sound of Nottingham Semi’ Finals but unfortunately being unable to perform at Market Square, Michael’s simple and effortless style is well suited to such an intimate atmosphere and is an ideal opener to the night. Prepare to have your heartstrings firmly tugged! Watch his Future Session HERE.

Next is MARC REEVES. His traditional approaches to song-writing and heartfelt vocals are a winning combination, proving simplicity is often the key to timeless tracks.

SAINT RAYMOND is the third act to take to the stage. Fresh and upbeat melodies tinged with an indie-pop edge, SAINT RAYMOND adds an element of contemporary quirkiness that is as endearing as it is entertaining.

The centre-piece of this incredible line-up is newly discovered Nottingham gem INDIANA. Only having recently been discovered as a last-minute entrant in this year’s Future Sound of Nottingham competition, INDIANA’s mesmerising voice will softly cling to your subconscious and follow you for days on end. Haunting and delicate, her song ‘Blind as I am’ is a subtle yet perfectly crafted thing of beauty and is a sure-fire hit for the future. Find out what I mean by catching her on the Podcast HERE.

Up next is one fifth of last year’s FSN competition winners THE MONEY and charisma juggernaut JAKE BUCKLEY. Not content with writing songs on your usual generic topics, Jake’s banterful tone on subjects as anti-run-of-the-mill as fruit salad are fruity and fun.

This is a top Acoustic Rooms showcasing some of Nott’s finest raw talent, so you’ve got no excuses, people of Notts – get involved in what is to be an all-out acoustic extravaganza!

GIG TWO

On the Wednesday we have the DANIEL DOBBS EP Launch at THE MAZE on the 9th of May.

To celebrate the release of Daniel’s debut EP ‘Don’t Wear The Beast’s Jeans’, Daniel will headlining a very special gig at THE MAZE with some cracking support acts. Daniel will be accompanied with his full band making this an unmissable event. This is what our brothers at Leftlion had to say about him: “DANIEL DOBBS may be small in stature, but his big, powerful voice more than makes up for it. Straight from the off his stadium sized songs threaten to blow the roof off THE MAZE. He is bombastic and earnest in equal measure, and there are moments where it can fall in to ‘Bryan Adams headlining Wembley’ territory, but if he can keep that in check, he’ll no doubt be on of the most explosive singer-songwriters in Nottingham.”

Support comes from THE DELI’S MIX, OVERVIBE and ZACKIE CHAN and don’t forget to pick up a copy of Daniel’s EP for the outrageously cheap price of £3 on the night.

Entry: £3 OTD
Doors Open: 7:00pm
