GIG ONE

Kickstarting this week’s Top Three is this year’s Nottingham World Aids Day Charity Event. This Wednesday at Nottingham Contemporary you will find a sensational line up full of first-rate Nottingham musicians to please your ears!

First up we have some Reggae-Funk fusion from BLESSING MAGORE, before an blissful assault of harmonies and grand arrangements from THE G.O.A CHOIR. Following we have the heavenly pop hooks of STEPHANIE HARGREAVES, the soothing acoustic vibes of JOY MUMFORD and to round off a great night the sublime melodies of I AM STARZ.

The event is free, but as this is a charity event there is a recommended donation of £3. For such a great cause, and such an amazing lineup, that is absolutely nothing!

Price: Free but suggested donation £3

GIG TWO

Next up, we have the sweet whispery tones of NINA SMITH playing at the Rescue Rooms this Thursday. She’s been away for a while, but after a sneaky secret gig at the Jam Cafe a few weeks back, she’s now she’s ready to astound Nottingham with her beautiful voice and knack for a bloody catchy melody.

She’s being supported by those familiar boys and girls in THE G.O.A CHOIR whose big sounds will get you up and moving and shaking everything you’ve got, while the unique percussion of SABAR SOUNDSYSTEM will get your feet tapping ready for NINA SMITH to take the stage!  It’s bound to be one heck of a night, and a great opportunity to see one of Nottingham’s rising stars before she hits the big time. It’s free as well, so come on down!

GIG THREE

STOP PRESS 13:30 22/11/13 – Georige has had to withdraw from both gigs sadly.

To round off the Top Three this week, we’ve got a truly awesome mash-up of charity events this Friday, featuring some great Nottingham artists!

Fan favourite GEORGIE ROSE certainly gets around a bit doesn’t she? She’ll be at both of these gigs, with only 2 hours between her performances. So, if you are a fan of the bluesy soulstress, make sure you get to both of these gigs.

The first of these gigs is All Fired Up at The Nottingham Contemporary. GEORGIE ROSE will be starting the proceedings before she gets her Nike’s on and legs it to the other gig. Up next we have Three Minute Heist with their charismatic blues before SALMAGUNDI’S clash of saucy sounds get you up and moving.

The second gig is Recovery Rocks at The Bodega, one great night of music to support one brilliant cause. Recovery Rocks brings together loads of Nottingham’s top acts to support those recovering from alcohol addiction.

We have a great variation of artists on the lineup for this gig, everyone should find something to enjoy! We have John Lennon McCullagh bringing his youthful folk tales, REBECCA KING showing her beautiful soul-pop sensibilities and SLEEPING SOLDIER’S atmospheric blues. MIGGY ANGEL will be expressing his profound spoken word before MARC REEVES’ heartfelt folk warms your heart. As is the nature of the cause, this is an alcohol free event.

Pop along to both, enjoy a night full of awesome music, and give a little back to the causes behind these brilliant events!
