GIG ONE

Farmyard presents DELTA SUNWe Seldom See” EP Launch with AARON SMITH and LOUIS SCOTT at The Jam Cafe on Friday the 30th March.

Come down and experience the sun soaked bluesy goodness of DELTA SUN as they launch their folking fantastic new EP “We Seldom See”. The biscuit loving foursome have been on the scene for a while now, pleasing punters across the land with their “cider envoked crazy riffs” and easy on ear melodies. This is the kind of music that is impossible to hate…and if you do find yourself hating it, well you need to cheer up! Check out the FUTURE SESSION HERE way back from 2010.

Support comes from local singer/songwriter AARON SMITH who’s chilled tunes and lyrical genius is an ideal prospect on a balmy Friday evening.

Opening the evening is the ever fantastic LOUIS SCOTT who absolutely nailed it at Rescue Rooms the other week. Looking forward to this one.

GIG TWO

Upload Festival (In support of When You Wish Upon A Star Charity) at The Rescue Rooms on Saturday March 31st.

If you fancy something a bit diverse this week, a spectrum of Nottingham talent awaits at the Rescue Rooms on Saturday – all in the name of charity. Upload Festival is showcasing some of Notts’s freshest acoustic and alternative acts, so prepare for a day of being spoilt for choice!

First up, you’ll be enchanted by acoustic songstress ELENA HARGREAVES. Her exotic voice and haunting melodies will take you on an emotional rollercoaster, and if you like your folk mixed with contemporary pop and jazzy blues, this is a gig that will soften your heartstrings and melt you to the core. Watch out for our FUTURE SESSION with Elena as part of THE HARGREAVES coming soon.

SAINT RAYMOND offers a more masculine side to the acoustic vibes. Combining clever lyrics with gentle melodies and sense of effortlessness on the mic, SAINT RAYMOND is one of Nott’s fastest rising solo artists and is a performer who always delivers.

If you fancy a change from the simple combination of vocal chords and guitar, fear not – MUHA are providing a generic slab of Eastern European vibes. MUHA, former FUTURE SOUND OF NOTTINGHAM Semi-Finalists, experiment with layering and mixing sounds and traditions into one piece, therefore creating music that is utterly unique and rich in culture. Brace yourself, you’ve never heard anything like this before!

And last but definitely by no means least (ish), THE FRONTIERS. The Nottingham band so good they’ve played both Leeds and Reading Festivals, and that was nearly three years ago, imagine how good they are now! Rumour is they will be road-testing new material in prep for their own headline show at The Contemporary in April.

Also playing Upload are HARLEIGHBLU, who was breathtakingly good supporting RONIKA on Friday plus EULER, CAPTAIN HORIZON, YUNIOSHI, THE GOLDEN TROUBADOURS and MISSIMP COMEDY TROUP. Trust me, this is a one-off event not to be missed!

TICKETS: £5 or £10 VIP
DOORS: 15:30

GIG THREE

Next up we have Altitude Festival at The Belgrave Rooms on Saturday March 31st.

BURYTHELADYBIRD fuse together jazzy blues lyrics with the serious punch of pure rock ‘n’ roll riffs. With their second single release on the near horizon, this band guarantees head banging.

DUKE01 has an incredible presence on stage thanks to the potent combination of brick shithouse physical build and hugely combatative lyrics. Remember when rappers used to care about more than ego, bling and booty? DUKEO1 fires out lyrics that will make you think, over beats that will move your feet (and afore mentioned booty).

PATTERNS IN STATIC will bring variety with their alternative rock coupled with powerful soulful pop lyrics. Strong post punk guitar riffs will hook you in only to be provided with a huge uplift in the chorus’s with the vocals breaking out of their shell. Be sure to check out this band, you will not be disappointed!

IN THE NORTH WOOD is one of Nottingham’s freshest Folk acts and also one of the nicest as they lead the pack on the LoveSpreading front! Using a plethora of stringed instruments backed by powerful lyrics this band is only adding to the great folk scene Nottingham has developed over the past few years.

Be sure to check out these great Nottingham acts plus many more and all in the name of a great cause PRACTICAL ACTION.
